Holzkohle/Grillkohle aus Bambus

Der Hersteller Aladin hat endlich (2008) die Naturkohle aus Bambus in Deutschland auf den Markt gebracht.

Die unter dem Namen Bamboocha verkaufte Shishakohle wird zu 100% aus Bambus hergestellt.

Bambuskohle wird wesentlich heißer und glüht 3-4 mal länger als andere Holzkohlen, ist dabei auch geschmacksneutral. Die Bambuskohle lässt sie sich etwas leichter anzünden wie die Cocochas. Kohleanzünder oder ähnliches werden aber auch für die Bambusholkohle benötigt. Sie lässt sich mehrmals verwenden, wenn sie nach Gebrauch mit Sand gelöscht wird.

Schon seit 2002 verwende ich  Bambuskohle zum Grillen, allerdings aus Rhizomen und Halmansätzen hergestellt und nicht aus den hohlen Halmen!
Die Kohle aus Bambus hat den Vorteil, dass Sie so gut wie nicht raucht, wesentlich länger glüht und fast rückstandsfrei verglüht. Es bleibt 80% weniger Asche zurück, als bei normalen Holzkohlen. Damit ist die Bambuskohle eine echte Alternative zu den bisherigen Kokos- und Holzkohlen.

Da die Bambuskohle wesentlich länger die Glut hält, lösche ich die Kohle mit Sand und verwende sie beim nächsten Grillen wieder, in dem ich den Sand abrüttel.
